BETHANY MEDICAL CENTRE

A 60 bedded hospital providing much needed medical care to the vast tribal community.

Bethany Medical Centre is an inspiring indigenous hospital. Based up in the hills, on the border of Tamil Nadu and Kerala , the hospital exists to provide medical care to an area that had no other medical facilities. As well as in-patient high quality medical care, the hospital also trains many local people in basic and community health care, sending them back to their own villages as health workers.

As well as health care, the hospital also takes care of the tribal communities basic needs, such as providing food, clothes and housing assistance. Education of their children is a priority and a school and hostel have been built to provide a high standard of education, allowing families to get back on their feet and break the poverty cycle.

What do we offer...

Love the One is working in partnership with this hospital, providing paediatric support in the hospital, free medical clinics for all the children at the tribal school, and developing the community child health and nutrition program. Love the One also are involved with ongoing training of the staff in neonatal and paediatric care so that many more babies and children can be cared for in an excellent facility.
