We met Akeesh on the first day of arriving back in India.
Akeesh is 12 years old and has cerebral palsy... his dad left when he was a baby because of his disability.
Akeesh lives with his mum in a small tin roofed two room house on a hillside with a rocky path leading to a lower and upper dirt track running either side of the house.
They used to live in a slum until Pastor Daniel’s church built the small house for them 10 years ago.
Akeesh can’t walk... he used to have leg braces until he grew out of them and they cannot afford to see a doctor again. He is getting too big for his mum to carry him.
Just imagine... having some physiotherapy input to fit him with a back and leg braces, and help him to walk.
Just imagine... having some occupational therapy input to help him to write and provide simple aids for his mobility.
Just imagine... having some willing volunteers to dig a sloping path, or steps with a bamboo hand rail, so that Akeesh could walk to the road and get the bus to school.
Just imagine someone caring enough to stop for Akeesh...
