We have recently been developing plans, in partnership with Mercy Homes, to build a KIDZ HAVEN on a piece of land in rural Kerala, India. We envision this to be an amazing place for abused, orphaned or traumatised children to walk into and feel safe. Once finished it will be a haven for the children to come and relax, to have their first ever holiday, and regain a childhood which so many of them have never had. On-site we are planning to build holiday accommodation for up to 120 children at any one time, as well as building our first Love the One baby homes to house and look after unwanted and orphaned babies up to 5 years of age. The land will have a large playground, recreation and counselling room, main hall with dining room and other facilites for the children to enjoy.  
 
There will also be an on-site paediatric clinic to provide free health and dental care for the children as well as the surrounding communities. This clinic will also be the main base from which the mobile paediatric clinic will run from. Also planned is a training centre above the clinic so that many can come and participate in training courses and be equipped to continue the work. 

On the site we plan to provide a guest house so that many volunteers from oversees can come for a short or long time. As well as skill sharing they can be involved in day to day activities with the children, whether at the clinic, running camps or training courses, facilitating holidays, gently counselling the children or helping to look after the orphan babies. 
 
The cost of the entire project is estimated to be around £350,000. Although altogether it sounds like an unreachable total within a year, it works out at just £10 per square foot… would you like to be part of making this dream possible for the forgotten children in India..
